Friedrich Smaxwil new CEN President
As of the 1st of January, 2012 Friedrich Smaxwil is the new President of CEN, the European Committee for Standardization.
During the past 20 years Mr Smaxwil has been active as an industry manager, at last as a Board Member of the Transportations Systems Group of Siemens AG. He has also acted as an Executive Board Member of the Association of the German Railway Industry. Mr Friedrich Smaxwil succeeds Mr Juan Carlos López Agüí, who was CEN President from 2007 till 2011.
