Co-operation with Azerbaijan
The Austrian Standards Institute will intensify co-operation with its partner organisation in Azerbaijan.
To this effect, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardisation, Metrology and Patents (ASCSMP) in Vienna on 25 June 2009.
Future co-operation covers the fields of standardisation and conformity assessments as well as information exchange and access to standards. Likewise, the partners plan joint education and training activities.
The two organisations already collaborate in an EU-funded twinning project in which ASI supports the employees of ASCSMP on issues relating to legal structures and through training courses.
