Austrian Standards Institute is also a favoured meeting and presentation point for everyone in the world who is interested in standards.
For example workshops of the standards organisations CEN and ISO as well as working groups for EU projects such as CARDS or PHARE take place at Austrian Standards Institute.
Or economy delegations, politicians, journalists as well as pupils and students come here to familiarise with standardisation.

Am 18. November 2011 war der Auftakt der Normungsarbeiten rund um die Dienstleitungen von Sonnenstudios („Besonnungseinrichtungen“) bei Austrian Standards Institute.
Ende Oktober 2011 tagte das europäische Gremium für „Rettungstransportmittel und deren Ausstattung – Krankentragen und andere Ausstattungen“ (CEN/TC 239/WG 1) bei Austrian Standards.
Im Oktober 2011 besuchten Experten des Indonesischen Normungsinstituts BSN Austrian Standards Institute.
Ende Oktober lud der Österreichische Gewerbeverein, ÖGV, zum Diskussionsabend mit Austrian Standards' Vizedirektorin DDr. Elisabeth Stampfl-Blaha. Die Managerin verdeutlichte die strategische Bedeutung der Normung für Wirtschaft und Unternehmen.

Am 9. Mai 2011 war es wieder so weit: Bereits zum sechsten Mal wurden bei Austrian Standards Institute Zertifikate an Wiener Übungsfirmen überreicht.

Im Dezember 2010 veranstalteten Austrian Standards Institute und die Internationale Organisation für Normung ISO einen Grundlagenworkshop für Konformitätsbewertung.
September 2010: Within the framework of the 3-year project “Technical Assistance to the Standards and Quality Management Programme”, a Syrian delegation came to the Austrian Standards Institute.
In August 2010, a delegation of Chinese standardisation organisations visited the Austrian Standards Institute for two weeks of training.

In February 2010 the Kazakh standardisation institute KAZINST and The Austrian Standards Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Vienna to intensify co-operation in standardisation and to foster the exchange of information.
