Partnership and Cooperation Agreements (PCAs)

At the end of the 1990s, the European Union conducted nine similar partnership and co-operation agreements with Russia and the new independent countries in Eastern Europe, in the South Caucasus and in Central Asia; Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldavia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
 
The aims of these partnerships are, accompanying the transition to a free market economy and promoting trade and investments. And secondly, establishing a basis for cooperation in the areas of legislation, economy, science, social issues, finances, civil science and technology as well as culture.
