Electrotechnology & Telecommunication

In the area of electrotechnology, Austrian Standards Institute cooperates with the Austrian Electrotechnical Association OVE.

According to an agreement of 1998, Austrian regulations concerning electrotechnology also obtain the status of an ÖNORM (ÖVE/ÖNORM).

The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization CENELEC is responsible for European standardisation in the realm of electrotechnology. The Austrian Member at CENELEC is the Austrian Electrotechnical Committee (ÖEK) in the OVE.

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute ETSI is responsible for the development of European standards of information and communication technology. ETSI is to be understood as an open forum for the entire telecommunication industry.
