The international standardisation organisations ISO and IEC develop globally recognised terminology on energy efficiency and renewable energies.
Vienna (AS prm, 2010-04-12)
Energy efficiency and renewable energies are significant issues that are in the focus of intensive debates on climate protection. In this context, international standards are of great importance.
To contain the Tower of Babel syndrome that time and again hampers discussions, a new committee was set up. The two international standardisation organisations ISO and IEC (responsible for electrotechnical standards) recently established the joint technical committee ISO/IEC JTC 2 “Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources — Common terminology”.
Its task will be to develop a common, globally recognised terminology on renewable energies and energy efficiency.
