Training for countries of the Western Balkans
Since 2007, the European Union has provided targeted support to countries whishing to accede or get closer to the EU. In the framework of this programme, the Austrian Standards Institute organises an extensive series of seminars from June to October 2010.
In late-June, representatives of public authorities in the Western Balkans came to Vienna to attend the first hands-on training sessions on market surveillance in Europe and specifically on risk assessment methods.

In July the training was continued by a seminar on "market surveillance and customs".
Mid-October a workshop on the so called "New Legislative Framework" took place at Austrian Standards Institute.
