As a non-profit organisation Austrian Standards Institute fulfils various duties:

• coordinates the participation of Austrian experts in European and international standardisation and maintains contact to national standardisation organisations all over the world;
  
  
• provides competent and comprehensive information and consultation on questions concerning standards, legal matters and technology.
